School reopens for School pupils for the Autumn Term on Wednesday 2nd September and to Nursery pupils on Monday 7th September 2026
We were delighted to welcome Affinity Water to Stourview CofE Primary Academy for an engaging LEGO coding workshop, giving children the opportunity to develop their computing, construction and teamwork skills through practical learning.
Working collaboratively, the children followed instructions carefully to build their own robots before using coding to make them move. The activity encouraged them to think logically, consider the order of instructions and explore the relationship between the code they created and their robot’s movements.
Throughout the workshop, children practised a range of valuable skills, including listening, communicating clearly, sharing ideas and solving problems together. Working towards a shared goal encouraged them to take turns, consider one another’s suggestions and offer support when challenges arose.
It was particularly pleasing to see the children’s concentration and perseverance as they worked through each stage of the task. Their excitement as their robots began to move demonstrated how practical experiences can inspire curiosity and build confidence in learning.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Affinity Water for providing such an enjoyable and stimulating experience for our pupils.
